The real thing: 20 words
Picasso was baptised Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Ruiz y Picasso — a stack of saints and relatives, followed by his father's surname (Ruiz) and his mother's (Picasso), as Spanish custom has it.
As a young man he signed “Pablo Ruiz Picasso”, and around 1901 he settled on the single word that went on every canvas afterwards: Picasso.
Why two eyes on one side?
Cubism tried to show a subject from several viewpoints at the same time. A face can be front-on and in profile at once: one eye looks straight at you while the nose turns sideways. Your portrait does the same — the left half faces you, the right half is turned and nudged out of line. That's the joke and the point.
