Café Shift
Eight cats. One shift at the Slow Blink Café. For each cat, read its ears, tail, eyes and posture and choose how to say hello. If it lets you, pet it, and stop before it has had enough.
How it works
- Greet. Slow blink, offer a finger, pet, play, or walk away. The right answer depends on the cat's body language.
- Pet. Press and hold on the cat (or hold the zone buttons / keys 1–6). Cheeks and chin usually win. The tail never does.
- Watch. Tail-tip twitch → ears swivel → skin ripples → ears flatten → swat. Let go to let the cat calm down.
- Three scratches and your shift is over.

Tip: cats in a 2015 University of Lincoln study reacted worst to strokes near the base of the tail, and best around the face.
