About this site
Sir Patrick Stewart died in Los Angeles on 28 October 2026, aged 86. His death was announced the next day, and the tributes have not stopped since: from his Star Trek and X-Men co-stars, from the theatre world, from Huddersfield Town and from millions of people who grew up with him.
Make It So is a one-day, playable tribute. It isn't a news page. Instead it tries to capture what made his work loved: principled leadership, a lifelong romance with Shakespeare, and the quiet stubbornness of a man who would not say five when there were four.
How the games work
- The Chair. 30 original dilemmas, ten per voyage, three choices each. Every choice shifts five virtues and two ship meters. Your top two virtues pick one of ten captain types; making Picard's call on at least 80% of dilemmas unlocks the eleventh. The "Picard's call" for each dilemma is our reading of the character's values, not a quote from the show.
- Bard or Not? 43 real Star Trek episode and film titles. Fifteen were lifted from Shakespeare's plays and poems; the rest come from Latin authors, poets, proverbs, puns or the writers' own imaginations.
- How Many Lights? Twelve randomly generated rounds that mix truthful and false claims, bribes and fake consensus, inspired by "Chain of Command, Part II" (1992) and Solomon Asch's conformity experiments.
- Sixty Years Onstage. 56 dated moments from his life and career, with a "Which came first?" streak game.
Your results, best scores and earned captains are saved only in your own browser (localStorage). Shared links carry the result in the URL, so friends see the card you saw. There are no trackers, accounts or servers.
A note on respect
This site uses no photographs, clips, logos or artwork from Star Trek, X-Men or any studio. Everything here, from the starship Stratford and its dilemmas to the art, was made for this tribute. Short titles and well-known lines are quoted for commentary and trivia. Shakespeare is in the public domain. This is an unofficial fan project, not affiliated with or endorsed by Paramount, CBS Studios, Marvel Studios or the Stewart family.
If you would like to honour him in a practical way, he spent decades supporting Refuge (domestic abuse), Combat Stress (veterans' mental health) and the International Rescue Committee.
