Families scatter marigold petals from the cemetery to their homes so the souls can follow the scent back. Lay the trail, light the candles, and see if every spirit finds its ofrenda.
How spirits walk
🌼 They only step on petals, and they never walk back.
⬆️ They keep walking straight while the trail goes straight.
↪️ If the trail turns one way, they turn. If petals lie left and right, they get confused and stop.
🏠 Next to their own ofrenda, they go straight in.
🐕 A xolo carries a soul straight across water.
